Changing Your Profile URL
If you're on a Premium plan, you can personalise your public HappinessCue profile link (for example, happinesscue.com/expert/your-name) from your Expert dashboard. This is a great way to make your link easier to share, print, or remember.
What happens to your old link?
The moment you change your URL, your old link keeps working — anyone who visits it is automatically redirected to your new profile. This redirect stays active for a cooldown period, currently 15 days, which your platform Admin can adjust.
During this cooldown period:
- Your old link continues to redirect visitors to your new profile.
- Nobody else — including another Expert — can claim your old link.
What happens after the cooldown ends?
Once the cooldown period passes, your old link is automatically released:
- The redirect is removed, so it no longer points anywhere.
- The link becomes available for any Expert to claim as their own new URL.
- If nobody has claimed it, visiting the old link will show a friendly "page not found" message rather than redirecting anywhere.
- If another Expert has since claimed that exact link, visitors will go straight to their profile — since it is now genuinely theirs.
A few things to keep in mind
- There's also a minimum waiting period between successive URL changes on your own account, and a monthly limit — both shown on your profile settings page if you try to change your URL again too soon.
- Choose your new URL thoughtfully — while the redirect protects visitors for a while, it isn't permanent, so update any external links (social media, business cards, etc.) as soon as you can after changing it.
