Session Documents don't stay attached forever — here's the real lifecycle, in plain terms.

Active, then archived

A document stays fully active for a set period after it's uploaded (currently around three months, admin-configurable). After that, it's automatically archived — moved out of everyday view, but not yet gone.

Eventually, permanently removed

After a further retention period following archiving (currently around six months total from the original upload), the document is permanently and irreversibly deleted. Our Admin team receives a warning shortly before this happens, in case anything needs attention first.

What this means for you

If you genuinely need to keep something long-term, download your own copy while it's still active rather than relying on the platform to hold it indefinitely — this policy exists to keep sensitive material from sitting around forever, not to be a permanent archive.
