For your account's security, HappinessCue allows only one active, signed-in session at a time. If you sign in somewhere new while you're already signed in elsewhere, we'll ask you to choose what happens next — nothing is decided silently on your behalf.
What you'll see
When this happens, instead of going straight to your dashboard, you'll land on a "Continue signing in?" screen. It tells you honestly how many other devices or locations your account is currently signed in from, and gives you two real choices:
- Continue Here — Log Out the Other Session. Your new sign-in completes, and every other active session on your account is signed out immediately.
- Cancel — Keep My Other Session Active. This new sign-in attempt is abandoned. Your other session is left completely untouched, and you're returned to the login page.
What happens to the other device
If you choose to continue, the other device isn't just silently disconnected — the next time it tries to do anything, it's shown a clear message explaining that it was signed out because the account was signed in from a new device or location, rather than a confusing, unexplained bounce back to the login page. You'll also see a permanent notification about it — "New Login From Another Device" — in your notification center on whichever device you check next, regardless of which one that is.
If this wasn't you
If you see this prompt and don't recognize the other device or location it describes — or if you're ever unexpectedly signed out with this message and you didn't just sign in anywhere new yourself — treat it seriously and change your password immediately (see Resetting a Forgotten Password).
What doesn't trigger this
Opening a second tab in the same browser where you're already signed in is unaffected — it shares the same session, so there's nothing "concurrent" for this to detect. This is specifically about a genuinely different device, browser, or location signing in while another one is already active.
